Department of Specification of Software Systems

The department "Specification of Software Systems" is part of the Institute for Computer Science and Business Information Systems (ICB) of the University Duisburg-Essen. Our main research interests are design and architecture of complex software systems. In particular, we are concerned with designing software for evolvability and the specification of distributed software systems.

Role within the MHP-KDB project:
Our department has a history in MHP related consulting, experimentation and application production. We are also a partner of the EU project "Technological Perspectives of the Multimedia Home Platform". We are interested in all software engineering aspects of MHP applications concerning the specialities of the environment given in the area of digital TV. This interest is especially directed towards systematic methods and tools to produce robust and efficient MHP-applications which offer rich content and interactivity.
